59 PBs and 3 regional times at Newmarket Meet

A mammoth 59 personal bests, 3 regional qualification times reached and 3rd place in the visiting club results was the conclusion of the Newmarket Open Meet last weekend for the March Marlins Swimming Club.

A fantastic result for the younger March Marlins team at the Junior Fenland League B Final in Whittlesey on Saturday. The tightly fought competition ended in a win by the Marlins with 144 points.

Marlins magnificent at Open Water

March Marlins took 10 swimmers, the largest from all the Cambs clubs, to this years ASA East Region Open Water Championships at Norwich. Between them they swam over 19km in the water today.
There were 4 novice 800m swimmers, Tilly Carter-Kitchingman who finished 6th in county, Georgia Ambrose was 5th in county, Ciara Mason was 4th in county and Sophie Tunley was 2nd in county.
The 4 swimmers that competed in the 1500m event were Molly McGowen who finished 4th in county, Nat Cook who finished 3rd in county, Lydia Gray finished 5th in county and Emily Morris who finished 2nd in county and also 2nd in east region.
In the 5000m event Katie McGowen finished 1st in county and Ashleigh Lavender finished 2nd in county. 
Unfortunately there were no representives from Cambs ASA to present the medals to any of the 6 clubs and 35 swimmers from Cambridgeshire that attended the event.
