Fenland Open Meet produces big results

The Fenland Open meet hosted by March Marlins proved to be a great success with the swimmers finishing with 87 PBs plus 6 Marlins getting Top Boy/Girl trophies.

Round 2 of the Junior Fenland League saw a third place finish for the March Marlins Swimming Club this month with 25 personal best times achieved.

Nat Cook shines in SFL at Newmarket

Senior swimmers from March Marlins competed in the 1st round of the SFL at Newmarket.  Highest places on the night were reached by Nat Cook 3rd in 50m Freestyle and he also PB’d in all 4 of his individual races. Also Andrew Fresher 3rd in 100m Breaststroke.

18 PB’s in total were beaten on the night: Nat Cook 50m Breaststroke, 50m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly and 50m Backstroke; Lydia Gray 50m Butterfly, 50m Freestyle & 100m IM; Katie McGowen 100m IM; Marc Johnson 100m IM; Lucy Halls 100m Butterfly; Richard O’Leary 100m Butterfly & 100m IM; Daniela Sarkovica 50m Breaststroke; Jamie Wilson 100m Freestyle; Katarina Caikovskaja 50m Freestyle; Siobhan Halliday 50m Breaststroke & 100m Breaststroke; Amelia Wallis 50m Backstroke; Jacob Halls 100m Breaststroke and Richard Peterson 100m Freestyle.

Other swimmers on the night were Chloe Seal, Gemma McGowen, Graham Shaw and Ben Wright.

Only a small squad were available to swim on the night and many swimmers had to compete in more races than usual, a huge effort and achievement from everyone, well done!
