Fenland Open Meet produces big results

The Fenland Open meet hosted by the March Marlins Swimming Club. proved to be a great success with the swimmers finishing with a phenomenal 87 personal best times plus 6 individuals taking home Top Boy/Girl trophies.
Chloe Cook stormed to the finish taking first place in all her races and subsequently receiving the Top Girl trophy in her age group. Freddie Allen also finished with gold in his events and took home the Top Boy accolade.
Graham Shaw collected his Top Boy trophy along with gold medals in the 100m butterfly and 100m backstroke. Shaw also took silver in the 100m freestyle. Luke Ruggles came first in the 100m Individual Medley and both he and Jacob Cowin finished first place in the 100m butterfly. Luke gained silver in the 100m freestyle. Cowin went on to take gold in the 100m backstroke and 100m Individual Medley. Cowin and Ruggles both gained the Top Boy award in their age category.
Brothers Sam and Harry Smith received 3 first places between them with Harry being awarded the Top Boy trophy. Sam also took silver in the 100m Individual Medley and 100m backstroke with Harry gaining a silver in the 100m freestyle. Other gold medal winners were Rosie Beningfield and Georgia Ambrose with Beningfield also receiving a silver in the 100m freestyle race.
Other silver medals went to Jude Staton, Jacob Lowe, Dan Riches, Harry Rayner, Tom Hanley, Ciara Mason and Molly McGowen.
A special mention to our younger competitors who achieved three or four PBs; Chloe Urbanowicz, Lucy McClure, Noah Cowin, Hannah Storey and Ruby Saunders.
Jack Stapleton finished with 5 PBs and a bronze in the 50m breaststroke.
