The B final of the Junior Fenland League gave some of the younger swimmers at March Marlins Swimming Club an opportunity to compete, some for the first time.
With 24 personal best times achieved and a second place overall, there were clearly some strong performances with 12 first and four second places gained.
Jack Stapleton provided three first positions alongside three personal best times and Luke Cumbridge took two first finishes in the 50m backstroke and 100m individual medley, also gaining a personal best in both.
Thea Hanley came first in the 50m freestyle and placed second in her 50m backstroke heat, achieving a personal best time in the latter race.
Henry Gooch and Una Ansone both touched first place with a new best time in their 50m breaststroke heats.
In each of their 50m butterfly races, Katrina Dale and Jude Staton raced to first place in personal best times, followed by Luis Souto Hill and Theo Liversedge in their breaststroke and freestyle races respectively.
Second positions were claimed by Abigail Watsham and Gracie Moule in the 50m breaststroke and Devon O’Neil in the 25m butterfly.
The finale saw eight Marlins swimmers, including Layla Bullman, Darci Whitcombe and Millie Walker, swim in the squadron relay.
Also swimming were: Alfie Davey, Yas Waite, Taylor Harlock and Michael Batista.
