March Marlins are pleased to announce that Liam Knight is now the clubs Performance Coach. Liam will be working with Sue Cole who is our Head Teacher and Junior Coach.
Liam started the role in September 2019, after returning to England from his last coaching role in Dubai.
He has been an International and National level swimmer for Great Britain and started his swimming in Fenland with Wisbech SC. Whilst there Liam was winning gold medals at Counties and started swimming and gaining medals at Regional Level. To further his swimming and to gain more water time Liam moved to City of Peterborough SC at the age of 13 where it was here that he started winning Regional Gold Medals and attained National qualification times. It was at this stage where Liam really got noticed by the England talent team and progressed onto the National and International stage. He has won multiple medals at British Nationals and represented Great Britain in 50, 100 and 200 back at the European Stage.
After completing his A levels, Liam gained a place at Loughborough University and moved into the National Training squad at the Loughborough Elite Swimming Centre.
Liam has been a swimming coach for the past 7 years, starting at City of Peterborough SC and then when he had completed his degree in Sports Science and coaching he moved to MY Sports Academy Dubai. For the past 3 years, he has been coaching and nurturing athletes to International and National levels across multiple ages.
Being a swimmer himself, Liam knows exactly what it takes to get to the next level and to fulfil everyone’s full potential both in the pool and out. With his swimming background Liam hopes to create a friendly and enjoyable environment for everyone to succeed in and to ensure March Marlins swimming club is one of the best swimming clubs in the county.
