Fenland Open Meet produces big results

The Fenland Open meet hosted by March Marlins proved to be a great success with the swimmers finishing with 87 PBs plus 6 Marlins getting Top Boy/Girl trophies.

Masters medal overhaul at Newmarket
7 of our Masters swimmers went to the Newmarket Masters Open Meet and came away with a very impressive 17 Gold, 5 Silver, 1 Bronze medals and also 2 District Records.
Steve Mavin – 1st in 400m freestyle, 100m IM, 50m breaststroke, 50m freestyle, 100m breaststroke
Garry Mavin – 1st in 50m butterfly, 100m IM, 200m freestyle
Marie Doherty – 1st in 100m IM, 200m freestyle, 100m butterfly
Dan Wardley-Smith – 1st in 100m IM, 100m backstroke, 2nd in 50m freestyle
Richard O’Leary – 1st in 50m butterfly, 2nd in 50m freestyle, 100m freestyle
Martyn Fresher – 1st in 100m IM, 50m breaststroke, 2nd in 50m freestyle, 100m breaststroke
Andrew Fresher – 1st in 50m breaststroke, 3rd in 100m breaststroke
District records went to Steve Mavin in 400m freestyle and Garry Mavin in 200m freestyle

Their medal tally for the year so far stands at:
29 Gold, 10 Silver, 5 Bronze medals
7 Regional records, 7 British records and 2 European records
